Rangers Register Winning Weekend

For the first time since December of 2017, the Vegreville Rangers registered back-to-back wins this past weekend ...

Three games into a fresh Northeastern Alberta Junior Hockey League Season and the Rangers have already matched their win total from all of last season.

The Rangers improved to 2-1-0 on Saturday thanks to a 6-4 win over the Cold Lake Ice. A victory that came on the heels of a 5-4 Overtime win in St. Paul on Friday.

Vegreville’s Nathan Gottselig led the charge offensively in Saturday's victory, registering four goals and five points.

Gottselig says the Rangers have proven to be a well-rounded team so far this season.

After making a splash with the Rangers as an Affiliate Player during the 2017-18 season - registering five goals and ten points in just seven games played - Gottselig suited up with the Edson Aeros in the Western States Hockey League last year.

He says experience was a great opportunity for his development.

The 19-year old forward is tied for the N.E.A.J.H.L.’s lead in scoring with eight points in three games played.

The Rangers are back to work on Friday when they travel to Lloydminster to battle the Bandits.
