The Holden Museum has unveiled it's theme for 2018, and it's coming with a bit of a treasure hunt. The museum will focus on "Communications" this spring and the telegraph line that went through the area, and include a hands on display with antique telegraph equipment.
As part of the display and the telegraph trail, the museum is also trying to include as much information as possible about the Battleford Trail that went through the area prior to the railroad, a trail whose exact location across the area is now lost.
President of the Holden Museum, Dave Maruszeczka, says they're trying to find the trail south of Holden and Ryley.
Maruszeczka says they have a big clue in starting their quest.
Maruszeczka says that anyone with information, photos, and stories about the Battleford Trail through the area and their land is asked to submit them to make a more complete display for their "Communications" theme this year. The Holden Museum is set to open May 27 for the season.
